Hurrica, located out on Redwood City's waterfront, is the Bay Area’s newest dining destination. It offers stunning views of Westpoint Harbor, where sleek yachts sway gently at their piers. Chef/owner Parke Ulrich—formerly of Waterbar, Epic Steak House, Farallon, and The Lark Creek Inn — brings his culinary mastery to his coastal cuisine. The open kitchen, framed by sliding glass doors, lets guests enjoy the action without disturbing the calm ambiance.

The restaurant takes its name from the iconic Hurrica V sailing yacht, and every design choice reflects that maritime spirit. We collaborated with Michael Boskovich of Pull Architecure to create an elegant yet playful space. Brass, teak, white accents, marble, and cream cowhide banquettes establish a sophisticated, cozy atmosphere. Hand-painted Japanese wallpaper with delicate brass jellyfish adds whimsy, while floor tiles suggest the textures of the ocean floor. Above the entrance, a brass-wire Onaga fish sculpture — an enchanting piece by artist Elizabeth Barrien — floats in midair. Teak walls and shelving evoke the refined interiors of a luxury yacht. At the heart of the space is a striking jellyfish tank, with glass walls connecting the dining room and bar.

Hurrica also offers a memorable outdoor experience. On one side, a private dining patio provides an intimate setting. On the other, a spacious covered patio invites relaxation, featuring cozy lounge dining and a counter that looks out over the water and marina. Glassed-in walls throughout the dining room and bar showcase uninterrupted views of the boat slips and the bay beyond, encouraging guests to linger.

Hurrica isn’t just a restaurant — it’s an escape. It blends thoughtful design with exceptional dining and warm hospitality.
